The Burlap People creates and develops handcrafted, eco-friendly bags of burlap for earthy souls. When we first saw the look and feel of the burlap, a ridiculously versatile fibre and fabric, we knew that we had to bring together the two crafts. Burlap is 100% biodegradable and recyclable, and it is one of the plants whose mere presence fights deforestation due to industrialisation. No one had ever thought to print burlap with the complex process of Ajrakh, but we at vraj:bhoomi and the chief jujumahn, Sam, at TBP were curious to see what it looked and felt like. The result was earthy, dark crimson mingling with indigo the shade of Krishna's skin.
So here you go - two age old Indian crafts coming together in a limited edition collection of handcrafted burlap bags with Vraj:bhoomi’s private collection of blocks inspired from the land of Uzbekistan.
